Ida Anderson Lowe

Ida was the sister to my Great-great Grandmother Annie Lee Anderson.

In the early 1900’s Ida was admitted to the NC State Hospital in Morganton. Below you can read a letter for the Superintendent, Dr. John McCampbell regarding the condition of Ida. It seems that she suffered from a mental illness. In the letter from Dr. McCampbell it states that she remains much impaired, with little to say. Ida’s husband didn’t read or write. Unfortunately, Ida passed away in the state hospital.

My Great-great Grandfather Joseph Andrew Gentle, Annie’s husband traveled to Morganton to bring Ida back home for burial. We don’t know the location of Ida’s gave.
